Weathered bottom of a canoe. Canoes are of two types. The ones made with a single tree trunk, which are very small in nature and need special balancing skills to ride it. Speed and maneuverability are the key aspects of them. They are carved out of a single tree trunk. The bigger ones are made of stitching together planks of tree as shown in the photograph. These are used for transporting goods. Due to weathering, some of the wooden planks need repair or replacement.
